All life is created by God. GOD MATTERS. In order for any person’s life to serve a lasting and honorable purpose, that individual needs to reverence the Lord Who made them~first. One does not achieve “life” or any worthy accomplishment through wicked means or evil deeds, as secularization falsely preaches. Genuine Life is available to us in only one place: Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Word made manifest. His heart matters.
Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it (Matt 7:13-14, AMPC).
The world is experiencing pressure and contraction. We are faced with our immortality daily through Covid-19, societal unrest, and the economy. But the real threat is unbelief. Diseases of the soul eventually surface like a tidal wave of confusion and chaos. We can see the manifestation of ignorance rising on both sides of the street. Narrow is the Way. Peace calms the storms. Wisdom comes from God. In John 10:7 and 9 (NIV; AMPC) Jesus said:
I am the Gate…
I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out [freely], and will find pastures.
It is simple—a choice a child can make. Pastures are blessed places in life, infiltrated with peace, prosperity, and all things right. The crystalline waters flow with tranquility~and we can breathe.
But do we really want “life”?
If the answer is “yes” it is there for the taking—a free gift for whosoever will, handed directly to us by GOD. We do not have to break in and steal it. We simply have to look up, open our hearts, and bend a knee to the kindness and mercy of an all-powerful, all-present, all-seeing and all-knowing Almighty God.
He is Creator of Heaven and earth~and all people. In Revelation 21:21 (AMPC), we see this:
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each separate gate being built of one solid pearl. And the main street (the broadway) of the city was of gold as pure and translucent as glass.
We will all look at those gates one day. Everything will be seen clearly then. The question now is, do you know for sure you will enter them? You see…
It matters to God how you conduct your life RIGHT NOW.
Are you brave? Are you bold? Are you mild? Are you gentle? Are you destined to be an overcomer—in the right way? Do you love, and not hate? Are you ready to walk the narrow path? Before judging outwardly, look inwardly—your eternal life matters. It occurs to this author there is no way to look inwardly without looking in the Bible as a mirror.
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known (1 Cor 13:12, NIV).
God knows you. He made you. He knows your life matters. Look to Him now for direction. We will all see the face of God one day. Whatever the vehicle of transition there—Covid-19, old age—God is looking at you right now. Do not walk away from this soul mirror and forget what He is saying:
Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do (Jas 1:23-25, NIV).
There is a Higher Court to answer to. You cannot steal from man or God and advance in any worthy realm. If you want your life to truly matter, it is not the outside of the cup, the other side of the tracks, what someone did to you in the past. Rather, it is the inside that needs to be cleansed and restored (Matt 23:25-26).
For a day in Thy courts is better than a thousand [elsewhere]; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness (Ps 84:10, KJ21, paraphrase mine).
Standing in the courts, this is the main question:
What is the state of your soul?
The answer matters more than any other answer anyone can give on earth. Do you believe in Jesus? If you do, put your trust in Him, not man. Forgive. Lay it down. Move on. And enter the Narrow Gate with no fear. You will find ephemeral pasture. You will be eternally blessed.
Again the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a dealer in search of fine and precious pearls, who, on finding a single pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it (Matt 13:45-46, AMPC).
In the overwhelming flood, go deep and find One Solid Pearl. He is worth a great price.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Did you know there are an estimated five billion souls on the planet today
who do not know of Jesus Christ, or do not follow Him?
